Bermuda grass is Cynodon dactylon in scientific language, it is
also known as turf for sport fields, parks, home lawns and golf
courses. It is common used turf in Africa, Australia, India, South
America and the other southern parts of United States though it is
originated in Africa savannah zone and India basically. Bermuda grass
is an original grass from tropical, sub-tropical and transition zone
but it is popular in all over the world because it has the good
tolerance quality in tough climate conditions. However, still in
Florida, it has problems with soil.
Bermuda grass is a very green colored and attractive grass in all
species of grasses because of its high quality of fast growing and
root system. However, both of these qualities are beneficial when you
grow it alone in your garden or fields or any place because these
qualities are its negative traits too. Bermuda grass rapidly grow in
the warm condition especially in the summer months wherever it finds
place and its roots spread deep in soil with absorbing most of the
nutrients of soil. These traits make Bermuda grass a very dangerous
and harmful weed for other plants and crops around it.
Bermuda as a weed:- Bermuda grass has many names because of its
weed traits as "Kweekgras" in South Africa, "couch grass" in Australia
and Africa "devil's grass" in India, "Gramillia" in Argentina and some
other. All these names tell the rapid worldwide growth of Bermuda
grass weed where grass is used as turf of gardens, landscapes,
roadsides and industrial areas because of its main qualities.
Identity & features of Bermuda grass, which make it as very high
class and popular turf but these good traits also make it known as
Bermuda grass weed for other plants especially for crops too:-
. Bermuda grass is a rapid growing grass in summer months; it has
high quality of surviving in worse conditions of climate. It has the
ability of coming back after the dryness in it. That is why, it takes
most of the place where it is grown up. It cannot burn easily.
. Bermuda grass has very good and strong body unit, which is
divided in basically two parts: one is outside of soil and known as
stolons while the second one in under the soil, known as
rhizomes. Both are very strong especially rhizomes, we can call it as
Bermuda's roots, which spread very deep in soil, because of this it is
very hard to throughout with only hands. Rhizomes remain in the soil
after the cutting of upper parts and grow back after some time, which
means there is no benefit of cutting Bermuda grass.
. Bermuda grass weed is very hungry in its growth peak time that is
why it sucks most of the nutrients of soil and fertilizers, which is
given for other plants or crops. This the most dangerous feature of
Bermuda grass. You can burn it with the high range of nitrogen because
it cannot grow in strong nitrogen presence.
. Shed of trees and other objects can also help in making Bermuda
grass out because Bermuda grass requires high light of sun for its
growth.
Bermuda grass weed is an uncontrollable weed to deal with
especially when it is grown in gardens, lawns and other areas. Some
big and effective labors need for the solution of this weed,
